I noticed my virtualbox WhatsApp version updating to version 2.2317.11.When launching that version of WhatsApp. It seems like WhatsApp Desktop has come to an end. Also file properties lists it as "WhatsApp (Outdated)" as well as WhatsApp title window. It appears that program has been updated from version 2.2310.5 to 2.2314.11, which has the gray. Some folks have been reporting that their WhatsApp desktop logo turned gray. As I never use the whatsapp web browser version myself. Thanks to u/humanzookeeping for giving me a heads up on this official download link to the standalone version from WhatsApp servers. Why this change? Why does everything move to the microsoft store? Which is a shame, because I got better performance from that than the MS Store version. You can no longer download standalone WhatsApp desktop version from their site.
